You are nailing it! Thank you. That the metaphorical meaning (I think that's the right word) I was hoping to have readers get. I wrote this poem to honor a very dear friend of mine who has experienced a very difficult divorce from an abusive narcissist. She has worked hard discovering herself again. And I'm proud of her. So, this is what I could give her for her upcoming birthday this week. We both love beach glass and have taken day trips to Lake Michigan several times to hunt for it and Petoskey stones. And apparently now, you also share an appreciation for beach glass. How cool! Thanks for bringing that up.

I write authentically about my journey with PTSD so that others may benefit from my experience. I also write about love and longing.
