Um... So why would every doctor's form, application, etc. ask if you are "married", "divorced", "widowed", or "single"? Be these are sociological factors that they want to use help categorize you. And YES each has it's own connotation, but by leaps and bounds, being categorized as "divorced" has a huge negative affect on the person. So, I cross them all off and just don't answer. Not saying my anti-authority disposition is a good answer to all problems, but its been working well for me. I'm sorry you received so many negative comments from so many knuckle-draggers.
